Gay priests?

We've had gay Saint's before, so why not gay priests? The Melbourne Archdiocese is following Vatican teachings to test possible gay men wanting to enter the seminary. Raises quite a few questions, such as how exactly do they test them, and how come when it comes to the lay-person (someone who is not a priest/brother etc; but a Catholic Church member) then homosexuality is fine, just not the act of it!

Priests are called to celibacy as it is, so they will not act on their homosexual feelings will they! It would also be a great step towards reunification with lapsed Catholics who see the Churches teachings on homosexuals as archaic, also very very misguided and misunderstood!

Would not the perfect thing for a gay man to do is become a priest? They will never marry nor have kids, so why not fulfill that life by becoming a father to many! Do previously heterosexual priests ever find women attractive, stuggling with that aspect of their vows? Sure! So would the homosexual, but there is nothing wrong with being gay as the Church is quick to point to us lay-men, just acting on these thoughts! The Vatican even try to back up the ban by stating that "homosexuality is a type of deviation."

One person in the news articles says something about how gay people have bought it on themselves... how priests that have molested in the past are not simply paedophiles, but gay too. That, I personally see as an outrage. There are two distinct differences between being gay and being a paedophile. To be gay, you must first be human, and paedophiles do not qualify.
