With Christmas fast approaching, supermarkets are lining their aisles with Christmas-stock, shopping centers and malls are adorning their pillars and streets with trees and Santa's and department stores are putting on their grand-finale to the year, such as the famous Myer windows at the flagship Bourke Street Mall store, Melbourne.
So I figured I would jump on the band-wagon and start posting some of my own seasonal things on here! It is an exciting time - all the rush, hype, excitement and joy - but some people forget the true meaning, many not even caring for the event that occurred some two-thousand-years ago.
Sure, some of you will say, "But Christmas is just an invention by the early Church for smoother transition to the faith by pagans" which, yes, is true. It has in fact been regarded for quite some time as a celebration of Christ's birth as opposed to his actual birthday. A date on the calendar where we choose to celebrate the awesomeness that is God, allowing His Son to be born to a simple peasant woman in a barn.
I hope you enjoy my Christmas posts, and I assure you will learn quite a few things in regards to certain Christmas traditions!
