Courts... Lawyers... Police... Prosecutors...

Today sure was the day for legal issues. After my walk back home from town, I had a large envelope waiting for me from my lawyer with a bunch of paperwork to sign - the ball is now rolling with my Common Law Damages law-suit... yay!

In other legal news...

Mark Shannon, the driver of the car I was passenger in and the cause of the whole accident, was sentenced in the County Court of Victoria. He plead guilty about a month or two ago to 1x count of culpable driving causing death, for which he got THREE YEARS... also plead guilty to 2x counts of culpable driving causing serious injury and got 6mths each... and as of today, his licence has been canceled... for three years. So that is a total of 3 years loss of licence, 4 years in the clink, with a parole period of two - so if he comes out on parole, he will only be without a licence for ONE YEAR, and if he serves the whole time, he will be able to get a new one straight away! What total B.S.

I have lost faith in the legal system, let's just hope that my Common Law Suit goes much better.

Now that's all over, done and dusted, I can start to move on with life some... get over these feelings of anger, sorrow etc; and start finding it in myself to forgive the bastard.
